ArteMystica
Founded in Berkeley, CA by Herbalist and Reiki Master Geronima Cortese, ArteMystica brings you sustainable, organic and natural products that help to elevate and brighten. ArteMystica’s offerings include bath salts, soaps, soy candles, goddess sprays, and my all-time favorite: herbal cordials.
ArteMystica’s delightful cordials have been enjoyed at summer gatherings this year, including my birthday party! Full of flavor and vibrant notes, I’ve found that mixing the cordial with sparkling water makes for an incredibly refreshing cocktail that can be enjoyed year round.
Geronima's cordials have been a hit with my friends and with names like “Persephone’s Power”and “Medusa’s Potion”,I was curious to learn more about the backstory from the maker herself.
Geronima shares that when cordials first came to mind, the goddess naturally appeared which inspired her to create a line that embodied the spirit, essence, and earthiness of each goddess. The process of creating each cordial is a ritual practice for Geronima, where she's guided to each flavor, fruit, and herb. She thoughtfully blends her cordials in multiple layers so that their well-rounded palate can be fully experienced with each sip!
I have yet to try all five of her cordial blends, but am enamored with Aphrodite’s Magic: a light and sensual blend made with elder flower liqueur, rose and cinnamon; and Demeter’s Elixir: a warm and robust blend of Chilean pisco, persimmon, hawthorn, lemon balm, linden, cardamom, nutmeg and ginger that was inspired by the Goddess of Harvest and Earth.
All ArteMystica cordials are available in 6 or 12 fl oz bottles, ranging from $15-$25. To order or learn more, email Geronima at artemysticanaturals@gmail.com.
Fox and Fennel Designs
Sarah Jystad is an Oakland-based acupuncturist and jewelry designer. She's also the founder of Fox and Fennel Designs - a stunning jewelry line that's inspired by the brief moments of utter beauty, sweet love, genuine connections, inner contentment, and the act of creating itself.
I first met Sarah at a pop-up in San Francisco and it wasn't long before we discovered we're both herb nerds with mutual friends. Sarah is full of love + creativity and has a deep reference for nature which is why I was immediately drawn to both her and her jewelry! I ended up getting four pairs of earrings and can't wait to purchase more for friends and family.
You can find Sarah’s beautiful creations on Etsy (with free shipping!) or at various boutiques throughout Oakland and San Francisco.
I hope you found this mini holiday gift guide helpful. May it inspire you to shop small + local this holiday season!
